The short version: you pay once and get a license key that works on up to 3 of your devices, forever, offline. Updates within your major version are free. Your data is yours — it lives on your device and we never see it. No subscription, no account, no rug pulls.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using ZiBa Portal (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. If you are purchasing on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms for them.

ZiBa Portal is a desktop application for Windows and Linux (with a macOS version to follow) that combines todos, projects, habits, workouts, recipes, a journal, goals, finances, a calendar, media backlogs and more in one local-first dashboard. All of your content is stored in a local database on your own device.
3. License & Device Activations
When you purchase ZiBa Portal you receive a license key, delivered by email. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App.
- Each license key can be activated on up to 3 (three) devices. A device counts against this limit when you activate the App on it; you can free up a slot by deactivating a device you no longer use, or by contacting us.
- License keys validate offline — no account and no activation server is required, and your license does not expire.
- Platforms: your license covers the desktop App on Windows and Linux today, and macOS when released — all sharing the same 3 activation slots. Mobile companion apps for Android and iOS are separate products with their own (lower) price, sold through Google Play and the Apple App Store.
- Your license covers your own devices and the devices of members of your immediate household using the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- You may not share, publish, sell, sublicense, or otherwise distribute your license key. Keys found to be shared publicly or resold may be revoked.
- The App, its code, design and branding remain the intellectual property of ZiBa Entertainment. Your data, of course, remains yours.
4. Purchases, Pricing & Taxes
Purchases on our website are processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC acting as merchant of record. Your purchase is additionally subject to the Lemon Squeezy Terms. Prices are shown in euros and include VAT where applicable; Lemon Squeezy calculates and remits applicable taxes based on your country. Prices may change over time (for example, a launch price followed by a regular price); price changes never affect licenses already purchased.
5. Free Trial
The App includes a 14-day free trial with full functionality. No payment details are required to start the trial. After the trial the App switches to read-only mode: you can always view and export all of your data, but adding or editing entries requires a license. Your data is never deleted or held hostage.
6. Updates & Major Upgrades
- Updates within your purchased major version (for example, all 1.x releases if you bought a 1.x license) are included for free.
- Future major versions (for example, 2.0) may be offered as optional paid upgrades, typically at a discount for existing customers.
- Your purchased version keeps working forever — declining an upgrade never disables the App or your data.
7. Refunds
If ZiBa Portal isn’t for you, you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase by replying to your order email or contacting info@zibaentertainment.com. Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy. We ask that refund requests reflect genuine use of the trial and the App in good faith. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including under EU consumer law.
8. Your Data & Backups
All App data is stored locally on your device. We do not host, mirror, or have any access to it. This means you are responsible for backups. The App helps by making automatic local backups and offering one-click export, but if your device fails and no backup exists, we cannot recover your data — we never had it.
9. Acceptable Use
- Do not circumvent, disable, or tamper with the App’s license verification.
- Do not decompile, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the App, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Do not redistribute the App’s installer bundled with malware, modifications, or as part of a commercial offering without written permission.
10. Optional Third-Party Services
Some optional features fetch data directly from third-party services from your device — for example cover art (TMDB, SteamGridDB, Open Library, Steam, iTunes), a Google Calendar feed you add, an embedded Spotify player, or public app-store statistics. These features are off or empty until you use them, may require your own free API keys, and are governed by the respective third parties’ terms. We are not responsible for the availability or content of third-party services.
11. Warranty Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. This does not affect warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZiBa Entertainment’s total liability arising out of or related to the App is limited to the amount you paid for your license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data (see Section 8), loss of profits, or business interruption. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for intent or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Termination
Your license terminates automatically if you materially breach these terms (for example, by reselling license keys). Sections that by their nature should survive — including Sections 8, 11, 12 and 15 — survive termination.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when new platforms or features launch. The effective date at the top will always reflect the latest version. Material changes will be announced on the product page. Changes never retroactively reduce what your existing license includes.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
